Privacy
Privacy at LIN
LIN is designed to be useful without forcing you into an account system. This page explains what is stored locally on your device, what limited analytics may run, and how you stay in control of your roadmap data.
Principles
Privacy-first by design
LIN is built around a simple idea: practical guidance should not require you to hand over more information than necessary. The product is designed so you can browse guides, complete onboarding, and track progress without creating a mandatory account.
In the current version, your personalized roadmap data is primarily stored in your own browser so it stays on your device and inside your own browser profile.
Local storage
What LIN stores on your device
When you use onboarding and progress tracking, LIN may store the following in your browser's local storage:
- Your onboarding answers, such as stay duration, nationality, work or study plan, and municipality.
- Your roadmap progress, including completed checklist steps.
- Guide-specific choices used to show the right branch of a guide when a step depends on your situation.
This local storage helps LIN reopen your roadmap in the state you left it. It is browser-specific, so using a different browser or device may show a fresh setup.
Analytics
Limited analytics and performance monitoring
LIN currently includes Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to understand overall site usage and performance. These services are used to monitor how the product is performing and where the experience can be improved.
They are not intended to turn your onboarding answers into advertising profiles. Still, technical and usage-related data may be processed by those services under their own terms and infrastructure.
Scope
What LIN does not ask for
- LIN does not require you to create an account to use the core roadmap experience.
- LIN does not ask you to upload identity documents, passport scans, or your BSN.
- LIN is not built as an advertising data product and does not sell your roadmap data.
Control
How to manage or remove your data
You can update your onboarding answers inside the app at any time. Because roadmap data is stored locally in your browser, clearing your browser storage will also clear your saved LIN progress on that browser.
If you want more context on how LIN should and should not be used, you can also review the disclaimer and the sources page.
